School-Provided Student Devices

Helias Catholic High School will begin a phased process of providing a Chromebook laptop device to all students in the 2023–24 school year with the intention of providing equitable access to technology for our students, to continue to enhance dynamic classroom instruction, and to support a consistent learning environment for students and staff.

This phased process will begin with all 2023–24 freshman and sophomore students being assigned a Chromebook at the beginning of the school year.

More detailed information regarding applicable acceptable use policies, student device and accessory maintenance and replacement, etc., will be provided when devices are assigned at the beginning of the school year.

Helias Catholic’s “bring-your-own-device” policy will continue to apply to junior and senior students in the 2023–24 school year; these upperclassmen will continue to have the opportunity to check out a Chromebook from the school. Please consult Helias Catholic’s device requirements document for guidelines on acceptable student devices.

In the 2024–25 school year, all freshman, sophomore and junior students will have a school-provided device assigned to them. In the 2025–26 school year, all students will have a school-provided device assigned to them.

The devices assigned to students are owned by Helias Catholic, and students will return them to the school at the conclusion of their enrollment.

Technology Fee

Due to the increasing cost of maintaining instructional technology including but not limited to student devices, Helias Catholic will implement a small increase to its annual technology fee for the 2023–24 school year. This technology fee, assessed annually to each enrolled student, will be $275 (previously $200).

Helias Catholic’s discounted tuition rates will remain the same for the 2023–24 school year ($3,000 for active members of a local Catholic parish; $4,900 for students/families not active in a local Catholic parish).
