Generosity of many helps keep Catholic education attainable for all
Dear Helias Catholic family,
Recently I had the pleasure of having lunch with a past parent of three Helias Catholic students. During the course of our conversation, the parent told me how well Helias Catholic prepared his children for college. He spoke of our school’s strong reputation of excellence in academics, athletics and co-curricular programs. We also spoke about the tremendous opportunity our community has to attend Helias Catholic at such a relatively low cost.
Everyone is feeling the pinch these days of the high cost of groceries, gas, medical bills, etc. We are blessed at Helias Catholic to have generous donors who help us to keep our tuition as affordable as possible. Additionally, the school has dedicated tuition assistance funds available to help families who are experiencing financial difficulties. Please do not hesitate to contact our Finance Office should you need assistance with meeting your obligations to the school; we will do everything we can to help.
Our Catholic faith calls us to be as generous as possible with all that we have. So many of us are blessed in ways large and small. When the blessing of being able to hold tuition at a very low rate was given to our community, it was the hope – and remains the hope – that those of us who can do so will make a return to the Lord by making an appropriate financial gift in support of Helias Catholic. One of the best ways to do that is by donating to The Foundation for the Benefit of Helias Catholic High School, which works independently on our school’s behalf to promote, expand and strengthen Helias Catholic’s long-term financial viability.
The actual cost to educate a student at Helias Catholic this year exceeds $11,000. Once again, tuition for the 2023-24 school year will remain at $3,000 for families who are active in local Catholic parishes that contribute toward students’ education. That means the majority of families at Helias Catholic are receiving a tremendous savings of more than $7,000!
We’re incredibly grateful for the generosity of all who make a quality, Christ-centered education in Jefferson City an attainable reality by helping to make up that difference. Last year, 20% of current school families contributed to The Foundation for the Benefit of Helias Catholic High School’s annual “Bridge the Gap” campaign.
I respectfully ask each family to review their commitment to Catholic education and to generously make a gift to The Foundation for the Benefit of Helias Catholic High School to show support for our mission. No gift is too small; what is vitally important is that all of our school families commit to a sincere investment in Helias Catholic’s vision of building a community of saints and scholars for Christ. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
My prayers and the prayers of the Helias Catholic faculty, staff and administration remain with you and your loved ones.
Live, Jesus, in our hearts — forever!
John Knight
Helias Catholic High School President
