Helias Catholic welcomes new staff for 2025-26

Helias Catholic High School is excited to welcome new faculty and staff members for the 2025-26 school year.
Philip Collins will join the Science Department faculty. Mr. Collins most recently has been a math and science teacher for grades 5-8 at St. Peter Catholic School in Fulton, previously teaching physical education as well. He is completing a master’s degree in educational leadership from Saint Louis University and has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy with minor in mathematics from Westminster College.
Hayley Gerling will join the Mathematics Department faculty. Mrs. Gerling was a math teacher at Fr. Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia from 2014–2017, previously working for the Jamestown C-1 and California R-1 school districts. She has a master’s degree in educational technology from the University of Central Missouri, bachelor’s degree in secondary math education from Lincoln University, and bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from Truman State University. Mrs. Gerling is a 2010 graduate of Helias Catholic High School.
Brianna Harmon will join the Science Department faculty. Ms. Harmon has most recently been a middle school social studies teacher at Linn Middle School, previously teaching at the Diocese of Jefferson City’s St. Joseph Catholic School in Salisbury. She has a bachelor’s degree in middle school social sciences from Central Methodist University and is pursuing a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction.
Rheannon Jahnsen will join Helias Catholic’s Saint Pope John Paul II Student Success Center staff as an administrative assistant. Mrs. Jahnsen has most recently worked as events director for the Vitae Foundation in Jefferson City, previously working as an enrollment specialist at State Technical College of Missouri.
Rebecca Leonard will join the Theology Department faculty. Ms. Leonard is completing a bachelor’s degree in theology and psychology at the University of Dallas, where she has worked in campus ministry. She also served as a Totus Tuus team lead and missionary in Jefferson City in 2024.
Jenni Moorman will join the Fine Arts Department faculty as vocal music director. Mrs. Moorman has most recently served as a voice instructor at Capital City High School and director of choirs at Rock Bridge High School in Columbia from 2022–2024, previously working as a choral director and music teacher at the middle and elementary school levels in Missouri. She has a master’s degree in music education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and bachelor’s degree in music education from Webster University.
Andrew Pitts will join the Science Department faculty. Mr. Pitts previously taught at Helias Catholic from 2007–2015 and most recently was a science and physical education teacher at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School in Lee’s Summit. He has a bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management/exercise science with minors in biology and business administration from Truman State University, as well as a master’s degree in applied health and sport science from Northwest Missouri State University. Mr. Pitts is a 2002 graduate of Helias Catholic High School.
Abby Reed will join the Fine Arts Department faculty as assistant band director. Mrs. Reed has been a graduate teaching assistant in the University of Missouri’s instrumental music programs from 2023–2025, previously serving as an assistant band director at school districts in Texas. She is completing a master’s degree in music education from the University of Missouri and has a bachelor’s degree in music education with instrumental emphasis from West Texas A&M University.
Elizabeth Senu will join the World Languages Department faculty as a Spanish instructor. Ms. Senu has most recently worked as a graduate instructor in the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Missouri. She is completing a master’s degree in language teaching with emphasis in Spanish at the University of Missouri and has a bachelor’s degree in French from the University of Ghana. Ms. Senu also speaks three Ghanian languages: Ewe, Ga, and Twi.
Weston Stratman will join the Mathematics Department faculty. Mr. Stratman most recently was a math instructor and department chair at Fr. Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia, previously working for Southern Boone High School and Kolbe Academy. He has a master’s degree in Catholic school leadership from the University of Dallas and bachelor’s degree in mathematics and statistics from the University of Missouri.
Abby Wilson will join the English Department faculty. Ms. Wilson has most recently worked as an English teacher, also serving as head girls soccer coach, at Fulton High School since 2023. She has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education — English from William Woods University.
