Garrett Wiggans to lead Crusader baseball as head coach

A familiar member of the Crusader family will take on a new coaching role at Helias Catholic High School in the 2025–26 school year.
Garrett Wiggans will become Helias Catholic’s head baseball coach beginning with the 2026 season. He has served as assistant coach for the baseball team for the past ten years.
Coach Wiggans also will continue to serve as Helias Catholic’s head basketball coach for the Lady Crusaders, a position he has held since 2020.
“Coach Wiggans is a man of character and dedication, " said Dwayne Clingman, assistant principal and director of activities/athletics. “I believe he has the background and knowledge of baseball to lead the Helias Catholic program to continued success.”
Coach Wiggans is a member of the Helias Catholic faculty as an academic coach in the Pope St. John Paul II Student Success Center.
He was a pitcher while attending both Mineral Area College and Lincoln University and coached the Mineral Area College baseball team from 2013–15.
“I am beyond blessed and grateful that Helias Catholic has entrusted me to lead the baseball program. Helias Catholic is truly special to me, and I’m excited to continue with the success, history, and pride that come with Helias Catholic baseball. Go Crusaders!” Coach Wiggans said.
