Finals and Festivity
By Annalyn Kitchens
As finals are around the corner at Helias Catholic High School, students are looking forward to the annual Christmas dress-down week. Dressing down, following themes, and excitement about Christmas break brings students all together in the long week ahead, finals week.
With exams approaching, themed days offer a moment of lightness and reduce anxiety for the faculty and students.
“I think dress-up days help students express themselves in ways they can’t in uniforms,” Claire Stegeman (10) exclaimed.
The themed week includes wearing your Helias Catholic Christmas sweatshirt, wearing ugly Christmas sweaters, wearing your comfiest sweats, dressing as your favorite Christmas character, and wearing all white for a blizzard.
“I think the dress-up days help us loosen our minds before finals week. It’s a nice break and makes everyone look forward to something during a stressful time,” Harper Sherry (10) excited.
Even if you’re not dressing up you can still look forward to hot chocolate, decorating ornaments and cookies, fun games at lunch, and fun drinks to buy during lunch.
As the semester is wrapping up, the halls of Helias Catholic are filled with test prep and holiday cheer. With Christmas break in sight, dress-down week reminds students that even during the busiest times, there’s always room for a little festive spirit.
