Blessing ceremony lifts Spirit of Excellence project in prayer
Helias Catholic High School held a blessing ceremony Tuesday, February 4, for the campus construction site and those working to make the Spirit of Excellence project happen.
“Lord our God … you guide and care for your people. Protect those working on this site and all involved in this project, may we see the completion of what has begun and may it bring you glory,” Helias Catholic Chaplain Fr. Paul Clark prayed during the ceremony.
“Look kindly on our benefactors and all who are supporting these additions and the mission of Catholic education in our community; may they also experience your goodness.”
Several of Helias Catholic’s student campus ministry leaders attended the ceremony.
Senior Julian Schmidt read from St. Paul’s letter to the Colossians: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord, and not for yourselves. Remember that the Lord will reward you; you will receive what he has kept for his people. For Christ is the real master you serve.”
And senior Crosby Pierce led from Psalm 90: “In every age, O Lord, you have been our refuge. … Math the gracious care of the Lord our God be ours; prosper the work of our hands!”
Helias Catholic’s Spirit of Excellence project will complete the school’s campus master plan with a performing arts center, on-campus baseball and softball complex, and expansion of Rackers Fieldhouse. Ground was broken on the project in summer 2024, with planned completion in 2026.
